Association membership in Internet2 is open to non-profit, higher education associations with dues-paying members and with a national or international scope.

Affiliate membership in Internet2 is open to not-for-profit corporations organized and operated for research or education purposes that do not qualify for Regular or Corporate membership, but wish to participate in Internet2.
