Targets will have significantly more flexibility and functionality in configuring themselves to meet the demands of publishing static and dynamic content, supporting multiple applications, from multiple hosts, while being a member of multiple federations; Origins will also see significantly more flexibility in their configuration options. Targets will support "Lazy" sessions, deferring the creation of a Shibboleth session until the application determines it is needed. This release includes flexible support for multilateral and bilateral trust arrangements, as well as support for more types of key and certificate formats. The target will provide improved plugability for many aspects of the system, including access control modules.

+ New Security Working Groups
SALSA-Arch Working Group
SALSA-Arch is the new working group created by SALSA, the oversight group consisting of technical representatives from the higher education community who will advise on leading edge technology issues, provide prioritization, and set directions in the security space, to investigate issues related to the identification of functions or components used to prevent unauthorized or enabled authorized access to data or resources, for the purpose of improving communication, the selection of design rules to facilitate operations or enable new services, and the adoption of specific techniques of interest to the community that may impact the above. These activities must accommodate a wide range of campus and departmental security policies, procedures, and schemas - the details of which are beyond this group's scope.
