Corporate Membership Requirements
This document provides general background information about
participation in Internet2 as a Corporate Member.
I. Who is Eligible For Corporate Membership?
All for-profit organizations are eligible to apply for corporate
membership.
II. What are the Criteria For Approval of a Corporate
Membership Application?
Applicants must be committed to promoting the development
and deployment of advanced Internet applications and network
services in the conduct of research and education.
The following criteria will be applied to applicants seeking
recognition as 'partner' or 'sponsors' in Internet2.
Three Levels
Corporate Partners
Internet2 Corporate Partners contribute goods and/or services
in the amount of $1,000,000 or more to Internet2 Regular or
Affiliate members for three years. Corporate Partners are
committed to providing leadership in the Internet2 community
by playing an active role in the development of advanced applications.
Examples include donation of equipment, services or in some
cases personnel.
Corporate Sponsorship
Internet2 Corporate Sponsors contribute goods and/or services
in the amount of $100,000 or more to Internet2 Regular or
Affiliate members for three years. Corporate sponsors are
committed to providing leadership in the Internet2 community
by playing an active role in the development of advanced applications.
Examples include donation of equipment, services or in some
cases personnel.
*Please note that applications materials submitted by organizations
seeking partnership or sponsorship will be subject to review
by the appropriate Internet2 staff before approval is granted.
Corporate Membership
Internet2 Corporate Members are not required to contribute
goods and services however many corporate members actively
participate in Internet2 activities. In order to get the most
out of membership, corporations are encouraged to engage with
other Internet2 members while striving towards the goal of
technology transfer.
III. Membership Term and Fee
All membership applications are subject to approval by Internet2
staff.
The currently established annual fee for Corporate Membership
(inclusive of Sponsorship and Partnership) is $12,000 for
corporations with annual revenue under $1 billion and $30,000
for corporations with annual revenue over $1 billion. This
fee is billed annually on a calendar year basis.
Membership in Internet2 is continuing, subject to the member
remaining in good standing regarding dues and assessments
and any additional policies or procedures established by UCAID's
Board of Trustees.
IV. Submission of Application for Corporate Membership
A. All relevant contact information for representatives from
the applying organization should be submitted via membership
application.
B. All applicants are required to submit information relevant
to the profile of the company seeking membership. Applicants
are asked to identify locations, core business(es), revenues,
relationship to Research and Education, and research and development
focus and organization.
C. Applicants pursuing sponsorship or partnership are required
to elaborate on existing partnerships and contributions to
Higher Education & Research Networking - domestic and
international, current special pricing plan for higher education,
and nature of proposed Internet2 partnership/sponsorship contribution.
Sponsor and Partner applicants are also required to submit
a brief executive summary.

What is UCAID's role with Internet2?
The University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development
(UCAID) is the formal organization formed to manage the activities
and programs of Internet2. A Board of Trustees composed primarily
of the Presidents of Internet2 Regular University Members
governs UCAID. It is incorporated as a 501c.3 non-profit organization,
and is the formal entity that collects member dues and fees
and manages expenditures associated with Internet2 related
