On April 29th, Internet2 and the Department of Veterans Affairs provided a live demo at the Internet2 Spring Member Meeting to show how telepresence can revolutionize health services for patients that do not have access to quality specialists. The demo used the Cisco TelePresence platform to connect a psychiatrist located at the conference hotel in Arlington, VA with a remotely located “wounded warrior” veteran in Cambridge, MA for a simulated diagnosis session. The demo represented the first Cisco TelePresence session held on the Internet2 Network.
