Membership in Internet2
Application Process
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of Internet2.
Please read the steps below on how to become a member of
Internet2. Membership is open to Universities, Corporations,
and non profit research oriented organizations. Individual
membership is not available. If you are inquiring about
International participation, please see the International
section of our website.
1) Please read through the following pages to answer basic
questions about Internet2 membership and the requirements.

2) If your organization meets the Internet2 membership requirements
and is dedicated to supporting the mission of Internet2, please
send an e-mail to membership@internet2.edu
requesting a membership application.
3) After completion of the membership application, the application
is reviewed by Internet2 staff, which takes 7-10 business

4) Once the application is accepted, all the Internet2 team
members named in the application will receive a "Welcome
to Internet2" e-mail. If your application is missing
any information, the person who submitted the application
will be contacted.
5) All Internet2 team members named in the application are
added to the appropriate mailing lists.
6) The executive liaison of the member institution will receive
a yearly invoice for the membership dues. The Internet2 membership
period is between Jan. 1st - Dec. 31st. Membership dues are
prorated on a quarterly basis.
7) If you organization is a University Member, Affiliate
Member w/Collaboration Site status, or a Corporate Collaboration
Site, you may connect to an Internet2 high performace network.
Abilene
If connecting to Abilene, the organization first needs to
become a member of Internet2. Before completing the Abilene
Participation Agreement, please verify that your
organization is a member of Internet2. The annual Abilene
connection fee begins the day the Abilene Participation
agreement is approved.
